Welcome to The Periodic Whatnot, my depository for what I'm currently obsessing about in the world at any given time. Generally this will concern music, as I have often been told that I should have an outlet for my thoughts on my thoughts on music, film, television, and the general whatnot and what-have-you going on. Most likely I plan on keeping fairly light, with my tongue kept firmly in-cheek... but there is a chance that other, more worldly topics, could be discussed from time to time.
So a bit about myself and the sorts of things that might end up here, I have a BA in communications with an emphasis on multi-media broadcasting from Dominican University of California. I was Managing Editor for the launch of their student-run news website, www.thehabitdaily.com, as well as their semester magazine. Many of the posts here will initially come from articles I wrote for my senior project. I wrote, edited, and designed a 52-page magazine titled "The Past Was Yours... An American's View of the British Underground from 1988-1998." It focuses on ten bands that came out of the UK's work between said years. In the cases of the groups that continued on beyond those, their subsequent work is merely eluded to... perhaps I'll flesh them out more here.
I will also likely be reviewing music as I hear it, or discussing various other things. If you're reading, thanks, I welcome friendly discussion. That's all for now, I'll see you down the line.
